  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red, orange or yellow bell pepper
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped onion or scallions
  • 2 tablespoons jalapeño cream cheese
  • 1 pound ground venison
  • ¼ cup shredded cheese of choice
  • ¼ cup Progresso Italian Breadcrumbs, or a slice of bread crumbled up
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • hamburger buns
  • sliced tomatoes, lettuce, pickles or desired condiments

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Sauté the bell pepper, garlic, and onion olive oil until the onions are translucent, stirring occasionally. Set aside and allow to cool. In a medium bowl, thoroughly mix the cream cheese into the ground venison. To the cream cheese mixture, add the shredded cheese and breadcrumbs and mix well. Then add the cooled vegetables; stir. Finally add the egg, salt and pepper and thoroughly mix. Form the hamburger patties to desired thickness and fry with remaining 1 tablespoon olive oil until cooked to your liking. Enjoy on hamburger buns with desired condiments, or serve with rice.
