Herb Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • Large/long loaf french bread
  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon poppyseeds
  • 1 teaspoon Beau Monde seasoning
  • individually wrapped Swiss cheese slices

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the butter, onion, mustard, lemon juice, poppyseed and Beau Monde seasoning.
  3. Slice the bread into 1″ slices*, but do not cut all the way through to the bottom crust.
  4. Add the butter mixture on each slide of slices.
  5. Add a 1/2 slice of cheese to each slice.
  6. Spread remaining butter mixture on top of loaf.
  7. Wrap loaf in tin foil, leaving top open.
  8. Bake at 325 F for 30 minutes.
