Ingredients
- Large/long loaf french bread
- 2 sticks softened butter
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon poppyseeds
- 1 teaspoon Beau Monde seasoning
- individually wrapped Swiss cheese slices
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 F.
- In a small bowl, mix the butter, onion, mustard, lemon juice, poppyseed and Beau Monde seasoning.
- Slice the bread into 1″ slices*, but do not cut all the way through to the bottom crust.
- Add the butter mixture on each slide of slices.
- Add a 1/2 slice of cheese to each slice.
- Spread remaining butter mixture on top of loaf.
- Wrap loaf in tin foil, leaving top open.
- Bake at 325 F for 30 minutes.
