Ingredients
- 3 pounds apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (about 8-9 apples)
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar-more or less, adjusted to sweetness of apples
- 1⁄2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of allspice
- pinch of salt
- In a 3 1/2-quart electric slow cooker, toss together the apples, brown sugar, salt and spices.
- Cover and cook on the high heat setting 3 hours or until the apples are very tender.
- Mash up the apples with a potato masher or use an immersion blender to puree’.
- Serve immediately or chill if desired.
